Is Forer's discussion of birth order accurate or inaccurate
for the children in your family?
I think that the Forer's discussion of birth order accurate for the children in my family.
For example, Forer mentions that the first child does not have unlimited time view himself as the child in the relationship with his parents. This is a true opinion. When I became a older brother from a single child, I struggled to be parental. Because my parents want me to do so.
And also, author mentions that parents usually expect their oldest child to be more capable and more responsible than the younger children. This is exactly true. My parents want me to study harder than my brother do and they want me to take care of my younger brother.
In my younger brother's case, he enjoys many advantages as a result of having more relaxed parents. And he is more current to move gradually from child to adult. These two things are correctly consistent with what the author mentions.
So I think that the author's discussion is accurate in my family.
